http://www.uc-council.org/documents/pdf/GTIN1.pdf
A 13-page downloadable .pdf document that illustrates and defines the EAN.UCC family of Global Trade Item Numbers (GTIN), the fundamental “primary product ID” building block for the UCCs Global Language of BusinessSM.  GTINs are the “keys” to globally unique product and service identification. A section dedicated to Frequently Asked GTIN Questions and a useful UCC Glossary are included.

http://www.uc-council.org/documents/pdf/SSCC.pdf
An 11-page downloadable .pdf document that illustrates and defines the EAN.UCC “key” to the globally unique identification of Logistics Units. Frequently referred to as the “license plate”, the Serialized Shipping Container Code (SSCC), when used in conjunction with an EDI Advance Ship Notice, enables shipments to move more rapidly and accurately through the processes of shipping and receiving. An FAQ section unique to the SSCC is included, as is the same Glossary found in the GTIN document.

Additional resources:

In the same “documents/pdf” portion of the UCC website, the reader will find additional downloadable documents illustrating and defining Global Location Numbers (GLN) as well as globally standardized Asset Identification numbers. Following the same easy-to-follow and informative scheme as the GTIN and SSCC documents, these articles examine additional EAN.UCC “keys” that are beyond the scope of today’s InSightU session.
