Description:
UID
– Unique Identification – is really a set of existing data structures with a
new name. Required by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) to identify
trade items and assets of either a certain value or of a certain
mission-critical nature, the UID provides globally unique identification and
serialization of those items and assets.
In
this overview session, the attendee will learn how to encode DoD-requisite
Unique Identification using EAN.UCC Application Identifiers, Data Identifiers,
and SPEC 2000 Text Element Identifiers, as well as the fundamentals of “The
Language of the Mark” – encodation of UID structures using the DataMatrix
symbology.
