Dr.
James F. Fales, CMfgE, CIE is a professor of industrial and manufacturing technology in the
Russ College of Engineering & Technology at Ohio University.
He is also the Director of the Center for Automatic Identification at
Ohio University. The Center is
devoted to research and education in areas of Automatic Identification and Data
Capture such as bar coding, magnetic stripe, voice recognition and radio
frequency identification.
Dr.
Fales is a leading authority and educator on the subjects of Automatic
Identification and Data Collection and improvement of productivity.
He is a frequent speaker at seminars and conferences, has served as a
consultant to companies such as GE, Pfizer, Xerox, and others.
He has written articles on AIDC in journals such as Industrial
Engineering, Electronic Commerce World,
Automatic ID News, and ID
Systems. He is a member of the editorial advisory board of Frontline
Solutions. September 1998, Dr. Fales received the prestigious Don Percival
Award, the industry’s highest honor presented annually to a person who has
made a significant contribution to the AIDC user community.
Dr.
Fales has degrees from the University of Miami and Texas A&M.
He is a Certified Manufacturing Engineer (CMfgE), a Certified Enterprise
Integrator (CEI), and has received
awards for outstanding teaching and contributions to association, industry and
business productivity.
